( OPEN ) PAST AND FUTURE FLOOR 🌠
WHO: Everyone!
WHERE: Floor [REDACTED], the Timey Wimey floor
WHEN: Early April
WHAT: Floor that takes you to the past and future... literally!!
WARNINGS: None, will update if necessary!
While there have been floors that have caused changes to characters… there’s never been one quite like this. Upon visiting Floor [REDACTED], characters will find themselves amongst hundreds and hundreds of doors. But that’s not all — look hard enough, and you might find a door that looks extra familiar to you!
It could be the door to your house, the door to your room, the door to your favorite coffee shop, the gate to a garden you used to love. But what matters is that once you walk through it, you’ll be transported somewhere else entirely…

INTO THE PAST
Walking through a door with a partner will take you to an exact copy of a place from your home. It’s not the real thing, but it’s damn close. Won’t it be nice to have a look around and reminisce?
The one thing that's different about these spaces is that they're interlinked with other spaces; where one character's copied space ends, the other half of the pair's begins, allowing characters to visit both theirs and a companion's homes in one fell swoop.
There will be no other living creatures in each “copy,” other than those that walk through with you. The space can be as large or as small as you like — and it can even be outdoors! It’s a nonsensical pocket dimension, don’t worry about it.
Characters will also find that walking through these doors may cause them to appear younger than they really are, as if they traveled back through time. It’s up to each player how this manifests — how young characters become, if they retain their memories and/or personality or revert to how they were at that age, etc — and of course, some characters may not be affected at all.
Finally, you'll notice that the door locks behind you as you enter. Engraved on the door, there's a riddle to how you can leave:
a piece of the past, you'll bring to me,
you'll find that only that can be the key
Bring the door an item from each of your pasts, and the door will unlock once more. Sadly, no souvenirs, so the items will disappear once you walk through!

INTO THE FUTURE
But that’s not all! Because each door doesn’t consistently send you to a place from your past nor transform you to your younger self. Some of them do the exact opposite.
Stepping through may cause you to appear older than you really are, which, similarly, is up to each player.
But, where do these doors lead to, if not a place from the past?
The future — specifically, what the future will look like for you if your deepest wish is granted. Characters need not have a specific wish in mind for this to manifest — it could appear as if one of their more impulsive, fleeting, nonsensical wishes were granted, too (ex: wishing the whole world was made of ice cream). On the other hand, characters who have a wish in their heart to see someone again, or to accomplish a specific goal… will see just what the future could look like.
These spaces are more dreamlike, and less structured than the replicas. Think of it as being like watercolor — shifting and impermanent. Again, both characters' wishes will be blended into one space, which players are free to interpret as they like.
Another riddle will be on the door, for your escape:
speak each other's wishes aloud to me,
and only then will you be set free
Characters will need to investigate the dreamlike space and figure out what their partner's wish is in order to be freed! You'll each have to literally say each other's wish out loud to get out. Have fun!

Having gone through this once, Reiju reckons she can hazard a guess as to what's engraved on the door behind her. As before, her memories are intact, though a childish wonder bubbles in her chest at the wondrous sight of the Elderflower Inn. It's a lovely place at a glance, and the innkeeper fits right in.
She smiles up at Sumina.]
It's my first time here. Would you be able to show me around?
SMOL REIJU... 🥺
After blinking at Reiju - it's clear she has not retained her memories - the younger Sumina nods her head. ]
Oh, I most certainly can, but, ah— Who did you come here with, little miss? Well... Maybe we can find them while I give you a tour! And... hup!
[ She's just going to... sit on the desk and move so that she can swing her legs over to the other side and then stand up. (Grown-up Sumina would never.) ]
Before we start, may I please have your name?
AND LIL SUMINA 🥹
Thank you. I'm Reiju.
no subject
[ Though... The name sounds a bit familiar, somehow. ]
All right... [ She clears her throat and makes a grand, sweeping gesture with her arms as she goes to stand in the center of this reception area. ]
The Elderflower Inn has been around for 1,802 years! It was founded by my ancestor, Bemere Cordifolia, and has been in the family for seven elven generations! Oh, but I'm only half-elven, by the way. Haha... Come on, this way! I'll show you to the rooms.
[ She nods her head towards a hallway and starts walking along it, where she says in a more hushed tone: ]
Nobody really knows how this place really came to be, you know.
no subject
Idly, she wonders how long an elven generation is supposed to be. Regardless of the answer, it's an impressive total of years. There's also the matter of Sumina's heritage, but she won't pry into that here when Sumina isn't in her proper mind. No, Reiju will just indulge the substitute innkeeper by lowering her voice as she follows diligently.]
Really? How do you think it happened?
no subject
Well... an unimaginable amount of magic, certainly! The finer details, though... I haven't a clue. [ a soft, deprecating laugh. ] I don't think I'd understand, anyroad, since I'm no good with magic.
[ As they go down the hallway, Reiju would find its walls adorned nearly from ceiling to floor with various keepsakes and knick-knacks from adventurers, including the ones within the Heartleaf family. It feels almost like a museum, although there certainly are some... insignificant things, there. Every once in a while, too, they'll come across simple portraits or sketches of Sumina's family members. ]
Speaking of, we collect all sorts of trinkets and magical items from our guests. It's quite often the form of payment for a stay with us! But we can talk about payment later on, after the tour.
no subject
As she thought, Sumina is more open at this age. Magical ineptitude is no cause for self-deprecation, though: If Sumina doesn't understand, then Reiju definitely won't.
Reiju takes in the sights as she follows Sumina, marveling at the assortment of items that cover the ceiling and walls. She isn't used to this sort of colorful display. The sketches are what pop the most, though, as they lend the inn a homey atmosphere.]
Which one stands out to you the most?
no subject
It's unsurprising that he was given this assignment, too. He always gets these high-profile ones, the ones that require the most attention, the most firepower. There's far too many of this classification for him to do on his own, but...anyway. He's not thinking about that right now, instead strolling up to the girl behind the desk. Ah...she's pretty cute, isn't she?
With one hand in his pocket, he leans against the front desk with the other, head canting to one side. Behind his frames, his eyes shimmer with the fire of potential, of holding the world in his palm. ]
Heyyyyy, cutie. I'm checking in for a job. We got some intel that you've got some unruly curses, blah blah blah — just point me in the right directions, and I'll take care of them just for you.
[ This isn't treatment he'd give just anyone. ]
1/2
Wait. Focus, Sumina Heartleaf! ]
no subject
Y-You must be mistaken! We don't have any curses here.
[ . . . ]
I think.
no subject
[ He answers fluidly, easily, with all the natural charisma someone who believes themselves invincible would possess, because as far as this Satoru Gojo cares, he is invincible. Untouchable, the world in his palm — or, even other worlds, too. ]
That's a shame! I was looking forward to getting to know you better. Are you telling me I came all this way for nothing? Wahhh, now you have to make it up to me!
[ So...either way, he intends to stick around and inflict himself on her presence. She had better just accept her fate, and it's not like exorcising the curses will take him more than a minute. He'll be back at her side sooner rather than later —
Until he grows bored or gets distracted by something else, probably. ]
no subject
[ Ah... He's got that sort of headstrong personality that she never really knows what to do with at boarding school, where she's surrounded by many talented mages. She's not sure how respond to it here at home, either. Besides, it wouldn't be very hospitable of her to simply try to show him out when he only just arrived...
After a moment of simply staring at him and not knowing what to say, her lips press into a thin line, and she clasps her hands together behind her back. ]
Well... There is one place I can think of that there might be curses, if there are any...
[ Young and inexperienced as she is in these matters, she doesn't think to question how he'd gotten his intel nor does she think to even ascertain whether he's the Real Deal, though that doesn't mean she's going about this without any trepidation whatsoever. ]
no subject
Something twinges in the back of his mind, but he shakes it off, motioning for her to lead the way. ]
Reaaally? Now you're talking. Lead the way, then. You got a lovely name to go with your lovely face?
[ His tongue itches with something unspoken to call her. Huh, weird. ]
no subject
(The Sumina portrait does not exist as of yet.)
Were he a schoolmate of hers, she'd sooner think that he says such things to get on her nerves, or just to stir trouble, but for whatever reason... Something tugs at her heartstrings, as if to remind her of something, yet she doesn't know what. Like this boy calling her cute or lovely shouldn't be so surprising, or troublesome... ]
Huh...?
[ Still, what a strange feeling. ]
S-Sumina. Sumina Heartleaf... And you?
no subject
Her name is unlike any he's heard before, like something right out of a fantasy manga, and yet before he can think better of it, he feels out her name on his lips, soft and comfortable. ]
Sumina Heartleaf-san...okey-dokey, Mina-chan! Satoru Gojo. You can call me whatever you like, though, 'cause I'm in a good mood today.
[ Now in her company, especially. It's — infectious. ]
no subject
Wow. This is kind of weird... But she did say he could come to the Inn, right?
Ah...
Stepping up, he smiles, tilting his head. ]
... I don't really know what you can do for me?
no subject
At length, she chalks up that strange feeling to her simply being the awkward teenage girl that she knows she is. ]
...Oh, ah... That's alright, then! Wait, were you traveling by yourself? It's a bit unusual to see a traveler my age without some older party members!
no subject
Shaking his head, he rubs the back gently before he huffs a little noise, trying not to look too sheepish. He feels pretty silly, but... He's here now, isn't he? And he wants to spend more time with her, so... ]
I was! I, um, lost a few people along the way.
