EVENT LOG

As your characters arrive to the hotel and check in at the front desk, they'll be handed a keycard for their room. If they're the type to linger or want to ask Mr Bennet questions, they'll be shooed off quite quickly by the hotel manager instead as today is a big day for the hotel.

"It's our grand opening," he explains. "Though, we were open beforehand just... now we're open to the multiverse! Isn't that wonderful?" Though he doesn't wait for a reply before moving on to the next guest in the queue and working to get their room next. Looks like they've been dismissed.

When they arrive to their room, they'll be greeted with a lush hotel room to their personal standards and quite ready to be enjoyed and lived in for the foreseeable future. On their pillow, will be a mint.

Or twelve mints.

Or half a mint?

For some people, there is just a note that says "sorry" and that's about it. Strange. Either way, they're free to have their mint(s) or not but it looks like they're not the only one settling into this strange hotel. Maybe they should strike up a conversation with another guest nearby after they've settled in?

SPA DAY.

After a few days of settling in, characters will find themselves waking up one morning and greeted by a coupon sitting on their nightstand. The coupon reads: FREE SPA DAY and nothing else. Which is kind of funny since, well, isn't everything already free? Either way, if your character tries to figure out what this means and go down to the spa, they'll run into a very busy staff ready to attend to whoever comes visit the spa. There are a few options available but strangely enough, after your character participates... they may find a few side effects too.

For instance:

Hot Tub: If your character visits the hot tub, they'll find themselves extremely lethargic for the rest of the day, falling asleep at a drop of a hat in the most inconvenient places. Perhaps in the hot tub itself? Or maybe on top of another guest? Oops!

Facial/Manicure/Pedicure: If your character opts for the more traditional spa day activities, they'll find themselves unable to stop talking afterwards. To the staff, to other guests, they've got a bit of a motormouth today.

Massage: Now, a massage, who doesn't like a good massage? Except afterwards, your character will find themselves particularly touchy feely with everyone they come across, being painfully clingy and unable to let go of their friends, or even strangers. Whoops.

Sauna: You would think the sauna would be safe but if your character goes in for a nice sweat, they'll come out feeling extra aggressive and itching for a fight, either physical or verbal. They'll start picking fights with the staff or other guests, unable to stop themselves.

All of these effects will wear off after a few hours, where your character will have to do a mortifying walk of shame after and apologize to folks. Oops.

1. Arrival

[IT'S OFFICIAL ARRIVAL DAY how exciting!!! Kaveh is happy to linger in the lobby and chat as he waits for his turn to get his keycard, Mehrak floating behind him with a neutral expression.]

It's been far too long since I had a proper vacation. It'll be such a pleasant change to have a nice, leisurely start to the day, without anyone ruining it first thing in the morning. [That didn't sound personal at all. Anyway--] Have you got any plans?

[Or, later, you can catch him on the third floor!! I've made the executive decision that at this moment in time there is a workshop on this floor. Why is there a workshop in a hotel, you say? Don't worry about it.

More importantly--Kaveh is extremely interested in checking out this workshop, so he is eager to get in his room and drop off his things!!! But as he stands in front of his door, he finds himself patting his pockets, frowning.]

Oh, no... I didn't lose it, did I?

[Maybe if you hadn't been CHATTING AWAY IN THE LOBBY, KAVEH]

2. Spa day

[Whatever a spa equivalent looks like in Sumeru, it is probably extremely different from this--but that makes it exciting!! Kaveh will definitely be spending time in the hot tub, getting a faci/manipedi, and enjoying a massage. Feel free to chat with him in the spa itself, otherwise (after an outfit change, because I have a massive pinterest board and I'm not afraid to use it if we have free stuff everywhere haHA), you can find him throughout the hotel:

A. Dozing off somewhere... in a chair with a book; at a table with his face on a notebook, the page sticking to his face; near the pool, as a trip hazard and also at risk of getting splashed; in the elevator? The possibilities are endless.

Or

B. Chatting away to anyone who will listen about architecture! Look at the placement of these pillars! Isn't the shape of the ceiling so interesting? And look, see how the placement of the windows compliments the curve of the walkway to emphasize space and light--

This. This is just Kaveh on a normal day when he starts talking about architecture. WHERE'S THE EFFECT.

The only difference here is that he might be more lax about invading a stranger's personal space, though this will generally just manifest as simple things like arm touches.]

C. Wildcard

[Hit me with whatever you like!! We can do spa effects, random floors, (checks notes) David S. Pumpkins,,,]

[hikari is just passing by in his exploration of the hotel, but he pauses when he sees kaveh in distress.]

Pardon. What did you lose?

[OH NO--wait this isn't Alhaitham's house. This is--okay it's still a little embarrassing but not as bad as it could be.]

Ah--you haven't seen a keycard around, have you?

[he blinks, though he seems nonjudgmental.]

A keycard? Aside from my own, I can't say I have. That's a rather unfortunate item to misplace...

[DAMN... he sighs, as Mehrak beeps in concern.]

Ugh, just my luck. [Is that what it is.] They'll probably charge for a replacement...

[he glances at mehrak in surprise, because beeping?? object??? but.]

... Hm. That would be rather unfortunate, especially to be so soon after arriving. I would be happy to help you look, if you'd like.
