🎤 🎂 ✨ (open)
WHO: everyone!
WHERE: floor 32
WHEN: evening of 3/20
WHAT: karaoke mingle! 🎤 and yuji's birthday 🎂
WARNINGS: n/a

[ Sometime in the late afternoon of the 20th, server member @ sumina notifies everyone (yes, @ everyone) that there will be a guest get-together at one of the large lounges on Floor 32. No one is expected to bring anything but themselves, though those who have diligently combed through everyone's birthday codes might realize that a party happening today isn't purely coincidental...
...And if not, it becomes clear enough upon arrival! The lounge has been turned into a karaoke lounge, but that's not all - there are birthday balloons and streamers artfully placed around the room, along with a banner that reads: Happy Birthday, Yuji! and a birthday cake on one of the tables.
The karaoke machine magically knows every song from every world represented here at the hotel, so don't even worry about not having anything to sing. Even ancient hymns are included on this bad boy. Not the type to sing? Too bad. The microphone will at times simply choose someone to sing, flying into one's hand Mjolnir-style, and the only way to get it out of one's hand is to sing your little heart out. Bonus: tell us what your character sings! Maybe the machine will even give you a (RNG from 1-100) score...
For those waiting for their turn to sing, there are fun little instruments like castanets, maracas, and tambourines to play around with along with this little guy, and also fun party hats and costume pieces. Guests are also encouraged to take photos with a Polaroid camera that's going around, but for some reason, everyone's photos are coming out with strange filters over their faces?
There's also a veritable spread of Japanese food, snacks, and desserts over all the tables as well. Yes, including Pocky... There's juice and also juice (for the grown-ups) and the staff are around should anyone have any special requests.
Have fun! ]

Her final score? RNG has given her... 81. She doesn't look pleased.]
... Should I try again until I get a better score...?
[Later on in the evening, perhaps past bedtime, Amelia will be found in the back partaking in juice (for grownups). Looking a little red in the cheek's there m'am... She beckons to whoever's nearby and with
beergrown up sparkling wheat water.]Here. Finish this one for me will you?
I'm going for the peach soju.
[m'am there are younguns around...]

Coincidentally, her hands are drinkless when Amelia beckons to her. And what is an innkeeper to do when someone requests her attention other than to oblige? This works just as well, too, because Sumina has been wanting to chat with Amelia all night long, though has been otherwise preoccupied with - you guessed it - being party hostess and making sure everyone else is having fun. ]
Amelia! I— [ oh. That's a grown up sparkling wheat water being pressed into her palms on sight. Yay! ] Ah. All right. You're going to try the peach soju? Save some for me, will you? I'm curious about it, too!
no subject
[Amelia gives her a nod, one in acknowledgement and then another to confirm she will in fact save peach soju for the peachy-pink haired innkeeper.]
Drink up. You worked too hard once again. We haven't talked in a while so I believe the liquor will allow us to speak freely and loosely.
no subject
[ With that, she will just go ahead and finish off that beer that Amelia handed off to her. ]
Welcome back, Amelia. We really need to catch up...! You just checked back in, didn't you? How was home? [ and then the words just tumble out of her: ] Did you miss Gale? Haha...
1/3
Well, she'll at least answer the other questions first!]
All is well at home and as peaceful as it'll ever be. Not that much time had passed so that was a little odd, but probably not unexpected given the nature of the hotel.
As for that last question...
no subject
no subject
I did. I missed... Gale.
[goddammit, the booze is not helping, her cheeks are turning pinker
To distract from that, she holds the bottle out to Sumina.]
Two weeks is a long time to be away after all.
no subject
...Drunk Sumina's expression positively falters as she holds her free hand up to her mouth, and coos: ]
Awww...! Amelia...
[ Her other hand, meanwhile, deposits the empty beer bottle to the nearest surface and takes the peach coju from the other woman, taking a sip of it like clockwork. ]
He missed you too, but I'm sure you already knew that! Haha... We were all reeling a bit from a few of our friends departing, plus you and Satoru both left to visit home, too, so it really was a bit somber here for a while... Glad we're having this party now! Think of it like a welcome back celebration for you, too!
no subject
He said he had trouble sleeping without me. Can you believe it? One ought to get proper rest, with or without another person.
[is she complaining or being worried? both probably...]
But I can't blame him really. It's like you said, some of our friends have checked out, but at least the option to return is always open.
Did you miss Gojo-sensei while he was away?
[trapcard activated]
no subject
So stunned is she by realizing this that she almost misses Amelia's uno reverse. Alas, her half-elf ears just manage to catch it. ]
I did. [ Oh. Oopey. She just blurted that out. She gasps as if she's surprised even herself, before she clears her throat, her gaze sliding sheepishly over to wherever Gojo is undoubtedly sowing some form of chaos ] It... It was really quiet around here without him...!
[ She's getting redder... ]
De—Definitely not like how Gale missed you, though, haha! We're not— We don't— [ HELP. SOMEBODY HELP!! ] N-Nevermind!
no subject
Amelia just stares at Sumina unblinkingly as she takes a good chug of the pear soju. Interesting... Of course she's mildly aware of whatever's going on between her and Gojo but she doesn't know the details! Maybe the booze is good for something after all; she'll be able to find out more?]
It's alright. You can say the word.
[She puts down her bottle.]
Coitus.

In a hushed but nonetheless panicked tone: ]
A-Amelia! There are adolescents around!
[ meanwhile Yuji who literally asked her if she and Gojo did "naughty things," ]
no subject
[As a Grown Ass Woman(?), she really should be mindful, regardless of her state of drunkenness, so she lets Sumina turn her in the other direction.
On the other hand...]
But we're on vacation.
[let the high school teacher be free from the constraints of polite society and let appearances in front of the youths be damned (because damn this soju is tasty, let her take another sip)]
no subject
[ She's not sure what being on vacation has to do with it all, honestly!!
She picks up that bottle of peach soju again and takes a drink... ]
L-Let's talk about something else, shall we? Haha.
[ Don't let her get away with this!! ]

The later portion of the evening finds him heading to where Amelia is helping herself to drinks of the adult persuasion in order to check in with her, holding a box of strawberry pocky in one hand while he nibbles his way through a stick of it, balancing it between his lips to free up his hands when she beckons and holds her bottle out to him, raising an eyebrow as he takes it.]
Of course— this didn't quite meet with your approval?
[He bends down to give the bottle an experimental sniff— it just smells like ale, to him.]
no subject
Later that evening, when he's done, the witch insistently holds the bottle out to him as her eyes spy the strawberry pocky he has in his possession.]
To answer your question, it's fine, but I'm gonna drink other stuff.
[Using 'gonna' like a plebe... She points at the pocky.]
Share.
no subject
He chuckles softly, setting the bottle aside just long enough to pull out another stick of pocky and wave it between his thumb and index finger before offering it to her rather cheekily by pointing it directly towards her mouth.]
By all means, you're welcome to have as much as you like.
[He manages to resist the urge to challenge her to a rematch, but there is a Spark of Knowing in his eyes.]
no subject
[She squints her eyes at the single pocky stick and then back at Gale, looking... Affronted.]
You have to give me more than one.
[look she's drunk it's gonna fly over her head]
It's better to eat a bunch at once!
no subject
Is it?
[He gives the stick in question a twirl as he looks down at it with interest, then gently taps it against her lips.]
I wasn't aware. I don't recall that being the rules I read all those months ago, but if you say so, it must surely be true.
[Seeing as he's all out of free hands, Mage Hand makes a convenient appearance and pulls several more sticks from the box, holding them out to her in offering.]
Better?
no subject
and miss]
Guh. What was that about rules?
[A little distracted by the Mage Hands with the extra sticks so she takes several, grouping some together in one fist before what he says finally dawns on her.]
Oh. Oh yeah. That game.
I thought we agreed that I won that.
no subject
Did we?
[It's like he never learns, despite being a dedicated scholar.]
I believe you informed me of such, instead— but I can't say I mind, in hindsight. I got to kiss you [sort of], so who really won in the end, hm?
no subject
[Give the witch girlfriend a second, she's gonna munch down on on one, two... three pocky sticks at a time before shaking one at the wizard.]
If you wanna kiss me, we don't need Pocky to do it. Unless that's something you want to do then we can't do it when there's children around. Do you understand, young man??
[yes she is being uncharacteristically silly, but otoh it's amusing to see Amelia just kind of let herself go]
no subject
He makes an effort to swallow back the bout of laughter that almost manages to escape him as he finds himself scolded, going so far as to put a hand over his mouth momentarily to smother the chuckle that does get out. Ahem.]
Oh, I'm well aware such pretense is no longer necessary, thank you— but I do think this is neither the time nor place. Although, if you're going to scold me like that...
[Hearing her call him 'young man' in that stern voice of hers, however serious she may or may not be, is entirely too entertaining.]
I might actually be able to get used to that, come to think of it.
no subject
[She's grumbling as she munches on the rest of her Pocky sticks and then moves so that she's leaning against Gale's shoulder.]
I'm drunk, aren't I?
