[ Sometime in the late afternoon of the 20th, server member @ sumina notifies everyone (yes, @ everyone) that there will be a guest get-together at one of the large lounges on Floor 32. No one is expected to bring anything but themselves, though those who have diligently combed through everyone's birthday codes might realize that a party happening today isn't purely coincidental...

...And if not, it becomes clear enough upon arrival! The lounge has been turned into a karaoke lounge, but that's not all - there are birthday balloons and streamers artfully placed around the room, along with a banner that reads: Happy Birthday, Yuji! and a birthday cake on one of the tables.

The karaoke machine magically knows every song from every world represented here at the hotel, so don't even worry about not having anything to sing. Even ancient hymns are included on this bad boy. Not the type to sing? Too bad. The microphone will at times simply choose someone to sing, flying into one's hand Mjolnir-style, and the only way to get it out of one's hand is to sing your little heart out. Bonus: tell us what your character sings! Maybe the machine will even give you a (RNG from 1-100) score...

For those waiting for their turn to sing, there are fun little instruments like castanets, maracas, and tambourines to play around with along with this little guy, and also fun party hats and costume pieces. Guests are also encouraged to take photos with a Polaroid camera that's going around, but for some reason, everyone's photos are coming out with strange filters over their faces?

There's also a veritable spread of Japanese food, snacks, and desserts over all the tables as well. Yes, including Pocky... There's juice and also juice (for the grown-ups) and the staff are around should anyone have any special requests.

[ Lynette is surprised when she finds herself on the metaphorical stage, but doesn't object. She also seems to pick up the moves relatively quickly, although her singing and expressions are definitely on the more deadpan side. At the end of the song, she turns and curtsies politely to Juniper. ]

[ Oh!? This lady has kitty ears and a tail, just like she has bunny ears and a tail! That means, legally, they're best friends now (no).

At the end of the song, Juniper giggles as she gives a less refined curtsy back. ]

[ She does her best deadpan Lynette impression. But even so, there's no hint of mocking or anything mean-spirited about Juniper's gesture, just an observation. ]

They were doing a lot of this— [ she makes heart hands and winks! ] and this! [ makes another cute pose with a big smile! ]

I think fanservice is one way to use your stage presence. A performer who has a more serious or dramatic image probably wouldn't do something like making a heart with their hands.

Oh... I guess you're right... Heh.

[ She pictures her very dramatic bard friend who likes to soliloquize about death and tragedy doing heart hands. It sends her right into a giggling fit. ]

Yeah! No, you're definitely right! Ehehe... But it would be pretty funny if they did that, huh? Like...

[ She strikes another pose... dramatically pressing the back of her hand to her forehead with a forlorn expression. ] Oh, woe is me... [ and then she does heart hands and winks again! ] Ehe!

[ and then she laughs again. ]

Then again, some people might like that.

[ Lynette's mouth twitches slightly at the performance before she claps, affecting a snooty tone like an art critic (though her expression stays mostly straight). ]

What a groundbreaking performance, truly avant-garde in its use of the uh, two extremes of human expression.

[ Even though it's just an act on both their parts, Juniper puffs up proudly nonetheless, affecting for herself a similarly snooty tone, like some kind of diva. ]

Hohoho, thank you, darling! I'll be here all week!

[ And then, just like that, she drops the act, her demeanor returning to its baseline of... well, young happy-go-lucky girl. ]

Oh, my name is Lynette. It's nice to meet you.

[ She points up at her rabbit ears. ]

[ Her own ears flick a little, but not in distress. The other girl has been very open and friendly so far, and obviously doesn't find Lynette's ears unusual. ]

[ Her own ears seem to swivel a bit, at that, as if to demonstrate just how good her hearing is! ]

It is! It's really helpful when I'm out adventuring, hehe... Are you fey-touched, too, Lynette? Lyn... Lynnie?

[ She's trying to formulate a nickname here, but she's definitely accidentally just pronouncing it like her brother's name, woops. ]

I suspect not, as that isn't a term I'm familiar with. What does it mean where you come from?

Also I don't mind a nickname, but my brother's name is Lyney so that might get confusing.

I see. Mine isn't anything that exciting--one of my ancestors passed the ears and tail on, but no one's sure how the line first started. There are all sorts of stories, of course.

[ She leans forward with her chin resting on her hands, her eyes wide and bright and ears standing at attention, ready for stories! ]

Hm, the most common one is that it was a prank of some sort, maybe from a god or a powerful magician.
