Happy February, folks! The hotel is chugging along as it always does and nothing really seems that out of the ordinary, actually. Mr Bennet is at the front desk as per usual, greeting new guests, checking out old ones, generally being mediocre at his job but there's something a little... off about him this morning. A little more Springtime focused. Is it the suit? No, no, that's the same as it always is. Is it the face? No, Mr Bennet's face is unable to be perceived by eyes as per usual. No, it's the —

The bunny ears?

HOP TO IT

It seems Mr Bennet has developed a pair of bunny ears and a tail overnight, but he's not the only one. Every staff member and guest of the hotel will find that they have grown a pair of animal ears and a matching tail when they wake up that morning. It's nekomimi time, y'all! But not just neko, characters will find themselves with all categories of ears and tails. Cats, dogs, rabbit, deer, fish. Whatever animal best suits the characters are what they'll find themselves sporting.

For all intents and purposes, these will be part of your characters bodies and real additional limbs. It will hurt if someone hurts them and they will bleed if someone cuts them. There will be some added bonuses as well as characters will also take on the traits of the animals they become. However players want to interpret this is up to them — it can be light like a cat person just being more aloof or heavy like a spider person having multiple eyes and limbs. Whatever is most fun for the player and most hectic for the character, of course.

This effect will last till the end of the month.

Of course, an additional note: For characters who already have animal ears and/or tails — they will either keep those ears and tails and develop more traits of that animal. Or they can become something entirely different for the month. Player preference!

ANIMAL CRACKERS

Mr Bennet has found this to be hysterical though so he has set up a stall in the main lounge that's advertising animal crackers. They're a little less cracker and more cookie though, and larger than the traditional animal cracker. They also come in all shapes and sizes. If you can think of the animal, you can have an animal cracker with it. There is a dog cracker. There is a whale cracker. There is a spider cracker. All kinds of things. Even fictional animals, like gryphons and dragons!

The only catch is — once your character eats the cracker they will become that animal entirely. This is probably tipped off by the bunny rabbit hopping around the lounge in a little hotel jacket, huh. Thanks Mr Bennet. The effect of these crackers will last as long as the player prefers and characters are free to eat another cracker and become another animal afterwards.

One thing though, as the animal, characters will still be able to speak in animal form. So there's that!

The animal crackers will also be available till the end of the month.

[ The bap on his head gets Ryuji's eyes going a little cross-eyed as he follows the paw and then, bap. And then he lets out a doggy sneeze in response, having been tickled by Megumi's fur. But he continues to lay there and wag his tail and seems so delighted by this whole experience in general.

Which he is! This is great and feels great. Plus, he gets to meet new people. ]

Okay, I won't! For now. [ eheheh. ] What's your name? I haven't met you yet as a human, have I? I'm Sakamoto Ryuji, but you can call me Ryuji.

[ Ryuji is more of a dog lover than a cat lover, considering his biggest nemesis is the talking cat he knows back home. He's not the biggest fan of cats. But for some reason his doggy brain is making him want to befriend this cat, who smells so good. And it seems to be going alright, in his opinion. ]

[ It was meant to be a bap, but with how little strength he has as a cat, and the softness of his paws, it was looking much more like he had pat the dog on their head. Well, he does love dogs, and this boy - whoever he might be once the effects wear off - seems to be heeding his warning. For now, at least. He doesn't know how much of this is due to the animal transformation or how much of it is Ryuji himself, but this bubbly demeanor definitely reminds him of someone else. ]

Fushiguro Megumi. [ Even if he was given permission to use the first name, he probably won't, finding that too ~~lewd~~ ... familiar. He's been a closed off person all his life, so he's not used to that. He will if Ryuji pushes him to use it, however. ]

I showed up here about an hour ago, so no, we definitely haven't met.

[ At the very least, the entire sight is ADORABLE. Ryuji is filled with the urge to wiggle closer though, but he is trying his best to behave, head on his paws and tail wagging like crazy. He's trying his best lately to meet new people at the hotel, instead of be mired in misery now that Akira has left the hotel. So, the animal crackers have been a nice distraction. ]

Fushiguro-kun!

[ Hey, look, he's polite enough to use his last name for now until he's been given permission to use his first. Even with his excitement, he retains some bit of manners. ]

Well, welcome to the hotel. It's always this weird. You'll get used to it and I dunno, prolly come to like it. I hope so, at least! I've been here since Halloween and it's uh, February now? We just had Valentine's Day which was nice. Oh! Do you want some chocolates? I have some leftover chocolate I can make you...

[ Though he's a cat, he's still a dog lover, so seeing a cute and bubbly retriever wagging his tail at him is an endearing sight. He also seems to be taking a liking to this boy's personality pretty quickly, which probably has something to do with how much he's reminding him of Itadori. ]

You're doing a lot for someone you just met. [ Making him chocolate? That's going way too far, he thinks. ]

If you really want to help, there's one thing you can do for me.

[ Or maybe it's going just far enough. Ryuji doesn't realize how much he's getting away with by sheer nature of being similar to Yuji but it's fine. He'll get Megumi to like him by his own merit eventually. ]

Well, yeah. We're all here together so why not be friends?

[ But when Megumi says there's something he can do for him, Ryuji perks up all around and his tail wags even quicker. ]

Yeah? What's that?

[ Friends. That's so quick. Ryuji barely knows him and right now, they are animals, so he doesn't even know what he looks like. What if Megumi were some sort of awful person? Not that he thinks he would ever do anything awful to someone so earnest and friendly.

Seriously, no one should be this happy about doing a favour for a stranger. ]

You could show me around. I just got here, so I don't know anything about this place yet.

[ He also wants to pet that fur, but he'll hold back on asking for now. It's awkward. ]

[ And yet, here he is, absolutely delighted at the chance to do something for someone. Even if it's someone he's only just met.

In fact, the suggestion of showing him around is a great one and Ryuji perks up at it, nodding. ]

Sounds good to me! Should we do it now or wait till we're human again?

I have some time now. [ It isn't like he has anything else to do here. No responsibilities or battles to fight so far. Megumi's definitely still getting used to the freedom. ]

It depends if you're free.

[ At that, there is a doggy head nod and his ears flap a little with the nodding before he's pushing back up to his feet and wagging his tail. ]

I'm free! I'll show you around wherever I can. Where do you wanna go first?

[ What a cute doggy. He wonders how much of the way this boy is acting is his actual personality, or some canine instinct.

Megumi takes some time to think. He doesn't really know where anything is or what's on any of the floors, besides the one he lives on. ]

Somewhere quiet ... My hearing's more sensitive than it usually is.
