EVENT LOG number 005 Happy February, folks! The hotel is chugging along as it always does and nothing really seems that out of the ordinary, actually. Mr Bennet is at the front desk as per usual, greeting new guests, checking out old ones, generally being mediocre at his job but there's something a little... off about him this morning. A little more Springtime focused. Is it the suit? No, no, that's the same as it always is. Is it the face? No, Mr Bennet's face is unable to be perceived by eyes as per usual. No, it's the — The bunny ears? HOP TO IT It seems Mr Bennet has developed a pair of bunny ears and a tail overnight, but he's not the only one. Every staff member and guest of the hotel will find that they have grown a pair of animal ears and a matching tail when they wake up that morning. It's nekomimi time, y'all! But not just neko, characters will find themselves with all categories of ears and tails. Cats, dogs, rabbit, deer, fish. Whatever animal best suits the characters are what they'll find themselves sporting. For all intents and purposes, these will be part of your characters bodies and real additional limbs. It will hurt if someone hurts them and they will bleed if someone cuts them. There will be some added bonuses as well as characters will also take on the traits of the animals they become. However players want to interpret this is up to them — it can be light like a cat person just being more aloof or heavy like a spider person having multiple eyes and limbs. Whatever is most fun for the player and most hectic for the character, of course. This effect will last till the end of the month. Of course, an additional note: For characters who already have animal ears and/or tails — they will either keep those ears and tails and develop more traits of that animal. Or they can become something entirely different for the month. Player preference! ANIMAL CRACKERS Mr Bennet has found this to be hysterical though so he has set up a stall in the main lounge that's advertising animal crackers. They're a little less cracker and more cookie though, and larger than the traditional animal cracker. They also come in all shapes and sizes. If you can think of the animal, you can have an animal cracker with it. There is a dog cracker. There is a whale cracker. There is a spider cracker. All kinds of things. Even fictional animals, like gryphons and dragons! The only catch is — once your character eats the cracker they will become that animal entirely. This is probably tipped off by the bunny rabbit hopping around the lounge in a little hotel jacket, huh. Thanks Mr Bennet. The effect of these crackers will last as long as the player prefers and characters are free to eat another cracker and become another animal afterwards. One thing though, as the animal, characters will still be able to speak in animal form. So there's that! The animal crackers will also be available till the end of the month. [Being a Fatuus has no meaning in this place, so maybe it's natural for Aether to trust the twins some more. Neither Lyney nor Lynette ever caused him any harm anyway.

The bunny closes his eyes, relaxing in Lynette's grasp.]

[ She curls her fingers protectively around him as she makes her way to the elevators and up to the 90th floor. Once there, she realizes something. ]

Where is your keycard?

[startraveler]

[He does feel protected and it's calming.

At least until his keycard is mentioned. The bunny's ears shoot up as he opens his eyes as well.]

Uh... It should be in my clothes... somewhere.

[He completely forgot about it! Hopefully Lynette somehow picked it up along with his cape and scarf.]

[cathasahat]

Hm, let's see...

[ She shifts him slightly so she can tuck him against her side and support him with just one hand as she searches through his clothes. After a moment, she fishes out a keycard ]

There we go.

[ She swipes it and open the door to his room, closing the door after she's inside ]

[startraveler]

[He's completely still as she's looking for the keycard, ears dropped in worry. Thankfully luck is on their side and the card really was in Aether's clothes.

The bunny lets a small sigh of relief.]

Thank goodness.

[And here they enter! The room isn't very big, just enough for someone who comes and goes. It looks almost ordinary, except if you look at the ceiling there's a starry sky there just like the one seen on the clearest of nights.]

[ Lynette doesn't notice the ceiling at first, as she's busy kneeling so she can set Aether down. Once he's safely on the floor, she stands and her eyes widen as she takes the decorations in ]

Oh...

[startraveler]

[Now that he's safe in his own room he can finally relax. His tiny head cranes upwards to look at Lynette and it takes him a moment to realize what she's looking at.]

It's really nice, isn't it? Almost as if we were outside.

[cathasahat]

It's amazing. Did you ask for it, or did the hotel know?

[startraveler]

It was already like this when I entered for the first time. It was quite a surprise.

[cathasahat]

I've heard the hotel can do things like that, but it's nice to see the results in person.

[startraveler]

This really is a mysterious place. It can be kind... or play pranks on us.

[cathasahat]

Yes. I haven't seen too many tricks so far, but some of the guests who have been here longer have interesting stories. Lava, for example...

[startraveler]

I think I prefer waking up with cat ears than waking up to lava...

[His tiny bunny form seems to drop when he imagines that.]

[cathasahat]

Me too. Hopefully it's more of the first type...

[startraveler]

We're not alone.

[He raises up, as if wanting to reach her.]

We can reply on each other's help... Just like you helped me today.

[cathasahat]

[ She blinks a little in surprise before she kneels down again to be on a closer level to Aether. ]

...yes, you're right.

[ She's glad that he trusted her to help him today, and that he seems to want to keep working together. ]

[He can see her surprise, so he hops a little bit closer to her before explaining.]

In this place, it's almost like we're on a "vacation" from who we were back in Teyvat.

[There is no Fatui, no Harbingers.]

So I think things could be different here. [He has no reason to distrust Lyney or Lynette while they're here... because what would their goal be here?]

[ Her smile turns a little wistful at what he's leaving unspoken, but it's understandable. ]

Yes...I think so too.

[startraveler]

[His tiny paw touches her leg.]

That's also what I told Lyney.

[He knows both Lyney and Lynette are kind and mean well. They never meant him any harm either.

So perhaps in here... he could truly trust them.]

[ She shakes herself a little and looks around. With how little he is as a bunny... ]

--actually, do you want me to put you somewhere else? I think it will be hard for you to reach much from the floor.

[He looks around the room. With how small he is right now even getting onto the bed will be a challenge.]

Normally I'm really good at climbing... But I doubt I can do that in this form.

Yes. I can help you get somewhere higher up with supplies just in case? I would say the bed, but then it might get messy.

[startraveler]

I think that will be the best option though. I'll clean up once I get back to normal...

[His choices are limited.]

[ She carefully scoops him up and places him on the bed. She pulls the pillow over as well. ]
