Happy February, folks! The hotel is chugging along as it always does and nothing really seems that out of the ordinary, actually. Mr Bennet is at the front desk as per usual, greeting new guests, checking out old ones, generally being mediocre at his job but there's something a little... off about him this morning. A little more Springtime focused. Is it the suit? No, no, that's the same as it always is. Is it the face? No, Mr Bennet's face is unable to be perceived by eyes as per usual. No, it's the —
The bunny ears?
HOP TO IT
It seems Mr Bennet has developed a pair of bunny ears and a tail overnight, but he's not the only one. Every staff member and guest of the hotel will find that they have grown a pair of animal ears and a matching tail when they wake up that morning. It's nekomimi time, y'all! But not just neko, characters will find themselves with all categories of ears and tails. Cats, dogs, rabbit, deer, fish. Whatever animal best suits the characters are what they'll find themselves sporting.
For all intents and purposes, these will be part of your characters bodies and real additional limbs. It will hurt if someone hurts them and they will bleed if someone cuts them. There will be some added bonuses as well as characters will also take on the traits of the animals they become. However players want to interpret this is up to them — it can be light like a cat person just being more aloof or heavy like a spider person having multiple eyes and limbs. Whatever is most fun for the player and most hectic for the character, of course.
This effect will last till the end of the month.
Of course, an additional note: For characters who already have animal ears and/or tails — they will either keep those ears and tails and develop more traits of that animal. Or they can become something entirely different for the month. Player preference!
ANIMAL CRACKERS
Mr Bennet has found this to be hysterical though so he has set up a stall in the main lounge that's advertising animal crackers. They're a little less cracker and more cookie though, and larger than the traditional animal cracker. They also come in all shapes and sizes. If you can think of the animal, you can have an animal cracker with it. There is a dog cracker. There is a whale cracker. There is a spider cracker. All kinds of things. Even fictional animals, like gryphons and dragons!
The only catch is — once your character eats the cracker they will become that animal entirely. This is probably tipped off by the bunny rabbit hopping around the lounge in a little hotel jacket, huh. Thanks Mr Bennet. The effect of these crackers will last as long as the player prefers and characters are free to eat another cracker and become another animal afterwards.
One thing though, as the animal, characters will still be able to speak in animal form. So there's that!
The animal crackers will also be available till the end of the month.

[ Slowly, she rises back up to her feet and emerges from the (partial) cover of that sandwich board, though as they walk together to the elevators, her murine tail curls around herself, while she clutches anxiously at its tapered end.
Why hasn't her feeling of being, uh, hunted gone away...? ]

Throwing out both hands in front of him, he waves to them both, ears pricking excitedly on his head. ]
What's that? We're having Momo-chan for lunch?
[ Yes, he overheard that part, and rather than question it, he's just going along with it. Maybe he's not a wolf, but he's still her predator...she is definitely at the bottom of the food chain here. ]

[ Because on one hand, he's used to Gojo just. Appearing. And being in his space and everything but on the other hand, they have a guest!! And they should prioritize her feelings first and foremost.
So, he'll look to Sumina to confirm she wants Gojo to come along before doing anything else. This poor mouse, caught between dog and cat. ]

So, perhaps despite her better judgment, or maybe because she is a mouse in essence and is thus prone to falling prey to traps, and also because she knows deep down that Gojo will not take no for an answer when his two favorite people to menace are right here... ]

Sure, sure, I'll be on my best behavior. [ Says well-documented lying liar man. ] So, what are we having? Assuming Momo-chan isn't actually on the menu...
[ He says that in jest...or does he? His ears give a little twitch, lips curling as he glances at Sumina, and then back at Nanami. They'd have no problem hunting down a mouse together, which is a weird thing to think, but Gojo doesn't seem to realize as much. ]
Maybe we should play a game of mouse hunt first? Hehe...
[ But he's starting towards the elevators, behaving himself...for now! ]

Then Gojo is suggesting hunting down Sumina and Nanami's eyes flicker behind his sunglasses from Gojo to Sumina and he has to... think... for a moment before saying — ]
No, we're not doing that.
[ He's hanging on by a thread here, people. He wants his paella. He does not want mouse meat. ]
We're going to a Spanish restaurant, for paella.
[ And as if on cue, the elevator doors open and Nanami is going to hold the door open for Sumina to go inside first. Because he is a gentleman. ]

[ To her credit, she is incredibly quick and firm about that response, even while Nanami spares a moment to look back and forth between them. There's paella to be had, people, and this is keeping them all from their foodie quest!!
When the elevator doors open, she stops in her tracks, even while Nanami very politely and chivalrously holds the doors open first. Because... She's a mouse, who's about to step into a confined space with a cat and a wolf. So: ]
...I'm not getting on the elevator unless you both promise that there will be no more talk of eating or hunting me. Please. It's embarrassing enough to be designated as a rodent like this...

[ Gojo literally brought it up?? Anyway, here he goes, stepping into the elevator first…but at least he extends an encouraging hand to Sumina. ]

When at last she steps in, she doesn't take Gojo's hand, and instead takes her place next to Nanami, firmly putting the youngest of this trio in the middle as a barrier. This is what you get for hanging out with the both of them at the asme time. ]
...Since you told me about it, Mr Nanami, I've gone and read that originally, it was a farmer's meal, and was made with what would be readily available on rice farms - like vegetables and beans. And rice, of course. And then fishermen added seafood to it, too.

Unfortunately for all involved, this will only further encourage Gojo's bratty behavior, thought at least for the moment, he seems...extremely drawn-in by the promise of seafood, his tail wavering thoughtfully behind him. ]
Wow, you really went and read up on the history of what you're having for lunch? [ Neeeeeerrrrrd. ] Eh, whatever! As long as I can get some seafood, too, I'll eat it.
[ He's not quite the foodie that Sumina or Nanami are, but he still enjoys an interesting and unfamiliar meal. Will the seafood be raw or cooked? Can he get it with tuna? So much he must know... ]

And if Gojo is too bratty about it, Nanami is absolutely here to tell him so. Like right now, when Gojo teases Sumina and then complains about the journey. They literally just got in the elevator, good god. ]
I think it's admirable. She comes from an entirely different world than ours, it would only make sense to look it up.
[ Ever the gentleman, this Nanami. As for the complaint, he ignores it. Because it's Gojo. Instead he watches the numbers tick up on the elevator. ]
I mentioned this to Sumina-san before but the floor we're going to is themed after a seaside town. There's a pier for fishing and a few shops and restaurants. It's quaint.

[ Unfortunately, Sumina hasn't yet learned how to ignore Gojo's whining. She'll learn soon enough, but at least Nanami's compliment diverts the conversation away from the cat in here (for the time being) - Sumina's mouse ears perk up as a result.

Come to think of it... A seaside town would have a very different ambience than the fifth floor, wouldn't it? It's been a while since I've gotten to visit a quaint place like that... Most of the seaside places I've been to recently are bustling port cities like Waterdeep. I'm looking forward to it!
