Happy February, folks! The hotel is chugging along as it always does and nothing really seems that out of the ordinary, actually. Mr Bennet is at the front desk as per usual, greeting new guests, checking out old ones, generally being mediocre at his job but there's something a little... off about him this morning. A little more Springtime focused. Is it the suit? No, no, that's the same as it always is. Is it the face? No, Mr Bennet's face is unable to be perceived by eyes as per usual. No, it's the —

The bunny ears?

It seems Mr Bennet has developed a pair of bunny ears and a tail overnight, but he's not the only one. Every staff member and guest of the hotel will find that they have grown a pair of animal ears and a matching tail when they wake up that morning. It's nekomimi time, y'all! But not just neko, characters will find themselves with all categories of ears and tails. Cats, dogs, rabbit, deer, fish. Whatever animal best suits the characters are what they'll find themselves sporting.

For all intents and purposes, these will be part of your characters bodies and real additional limbs. It will hurt if someone hurts them and they will bleed if someone cuts them. There will be some added bonuses as well as characters will also take on the traits of the animals they become. However players want to interpret this is up to them — it can be light like a cat person just being more aloof or heavy like a spider person having multiple eyes and limbs. Whatever is most fun for the player and most hectic for the character, of course.

This effect will last till the end of the month.

Of course, an additional note: For characters who already have animal ears and/or tails — they will either keep those ears and tails and develop more traits of that animal. Or they can become something entirely different for the month. Player preference!

ANIMAL CRACKERS

Mr Bennet has found this to be hysterical though so he has set up a stall in the main lounge that's advertising animal crackers. They're a little less cracker and more cookie though, and larger than the traditional animal cracker. They also come in all shapes and sizes. If you can think of the animal, you can have an animal cracker with it. There is a dog cracker. There is a whale cracker. There is a spider cracker. All kinds of things. Even fictional animals, like gryphons and dragons!

The only catch is — once your character eats the cracker they will become that animal entirely. This is probably tipped off by the bunny rabbit hopping around the lounge in a little hotel jacket, huh. Thanks Mr Bennet. The effect of these crackers will last as long as the player prefers and characters are free to eat another cracker and become another animal afterwards.

One thing though, as the animal, characters will still be able to speak in animal form. So there's that!

The animal crackers will also be available till the end of the month.

[ With her eyes closed, she can only feel when he takes a detour, both from the touch of her hands on his face and then from the very way his lips alight upon... not her mouth shortly thereafter. He startles a gasp out of her, eyes then fluttering open as she glances at him and that mischievous catlike expression on his features. ]

Wait, that's—

[ Pressing her lips together momentarily, she stifles a high-pitched little noise while he presses two more kisses to her neck, before at last she manages to add: ]

That's cheating, Satoru...

[ Another laugh escapes him, this time warm and flush against her skin, as he continues that slow and steady trail of kisses before he answers. He takes his time, kissing her throat, the soft patch of skin beneath her chin, the corner of her jaw near her murine ear. And when he's close to that ear: ]

How do you figure? Please. Enlighten me.

[ He'll wait, before pressing forward, to hear her plead her case. His gaze remains as coy as ever, though there's some color in his cheekbones that wasn't there before. ]

[ Is he even listening? He simply continues to kiss her neck freely, while she swallows against a lump in her throat and bites down on her lower lip before she responds in kind. ]

You know why...!

[ He didn't specify where he was going to kiss her!! ]

I didn't know you were going to...

[ Her voice trails off, shrunken and quiet. Gods. She can't do this. How is she supposed to just speak these things out loud? With her Charisma score that is actually pretty decent but not specced for steamy conversations!?! ]

[ No, he didn't specify...but is it such a huge difference? (Yes.) Kissing her on the lips should be the more intimate act, and yet leaning over her like this, kissing the length of her neck and her features like he has all the time in the world...he knows exactly what he's doing.

...Which is also why he's taking it slow, and mindful of her reactions. She hasn't asked him to stop, but this is new territory for them, especially in this somewhat compromising position. However, he's never been one to flinch away from what he wants, and now that she's assuaged his worries about her Valentine's, his predatory urges are set aside. For the time being.

...It's not easy, though, to resist the urge to sink his teeth into her soft skin instead, but whether that has anything to do with his prey drive or not is debatable. ]

Ah. Should I stop, then?

[ With that same lilt to his voice, he lifts his mouth away from her, peering at her with wicked, bright eyes. ]

[ That he's going as slowly as he does is the only reason Sumina hasn't tried to stop him outright, like as not. Even this is already a lot to ask of her without any warning, but given recent events, perhaps... There's a curiosity that's been stirred within her that she knows not how to voice, and only like this is it given a chance to show itself.

All to say, drawing the inside of her lip between her teeth once more, her brow knits together when she meets his gaze and soon finds herself unable to keep that gaze. Sumina wills herself instead to look away - yes, inadvertently availing him to more of her neck yet again - and shake her head. An unspoken request to continue... ]

[ Ah, she can't even answer with her words...but she gives him no indication that this isn't something she wants, too. So biting is probably out of the question, but it's just as well. He has a tendency to be impulsive and impatient, but something about Mina's presence brings out his more relaxed side, and he finds himself glad to take it slow, too.

Hasn't that been what they've been doing this whole time? Just taking it slow?

So, as she requests, he does continue to kiss her skin, warm and flushed beneath the pressure of his lips, as he lowers himself more comfortably over her, supported by his elbows at either side of her. Working his way up, he kisses her cheekbone, the ridge of her nose, the corner of her mouth — before offering softly: ]

You can touch more than my face, you know. And kiss me too, if you want.

[ With just a pinch of teasing in his tone. ]

[ Sumina can only breathe deeply as Satoru proceeds, his body pressing over hers more fully. Slow... is good, for her. Gods know that she has been around many, many people in her time who tend towards the opposite, and truthfully, she suspects that Satoru would be, too, were not for a rare display of patience in this. She won't take it for granted, and later she'll try to express how grateful she is that he acquiesced to her pace, but for now...

For now, she flushes at his teasing remark, lips pressing into a thin line. It's true that she hasn't reciprocated much at this moment, but... Uh. ]

Ahaha... Aren't you supposed to be making it up to me?

[ 😒 ]

[ The thing is, she’s not wrong…he just wants at least a little bit of reciprocation, okay!! Is that so much to ask? …Maybe yes, of someone who is as new to this as she is, up against someone with formidable experience like himself. He makes a disgruntled little noise—
