[ Elevator-riders today may notice an out of place card stuck on one side of the elevator, with the words "We invite you to Floor 11." Those who follow the guidance of the mysterious card and travel to the floor will find a trail of playing cards leading them to the floor's lounge, which has been brightly decorated in cat-themed decor of red and teal. There is also a gray and teal porcelain tea set on the table; the fragrant aroma of a rich black tea fills the air. There are also plates filled with shortbread cookies, scones with jam and small finger sandwiches.]

[ At the small stage in the center of the lounge are two similarly-dressed figures, smiling brightly (well one of them is) as people trickle in. The male of the pair steps forward to give a bow and a flourish of his arms. ]

Welcome to our welcome party, for us! We're so honored you could make it!

To help ourselves get settled in, we invite you to some tea and snacks made by my wonderful sister Lynette. Or to come and chat with myself, the humbly charming Lyney.

But if that isn't enough to keep things interesting, we invite you to play a game with us. A simple word game, of course, nothing complicated for our first meeting. Simply take the last word of our sentence and start your next sentence with it, and we will do the same. The first one to trip up is the loser! I must warn you though, my sister has a sharp way with words.

You must have quite the experience in cooking to do that much on such short notice.

As long as it doesn't require more complicated kitchen implements...I'm not good with machines, so I tend to avoid using t hem.

I imagine the same can be said for most of us who aren't chefs—just as I would avoid imitating the sleight of hand implemented by a performer like yourself.

That's true, but one can usually learn the basics of those skills. My brothers say I just have bad luck with machines.

What makes him say that?

Probably the third time they had to stay up late fixing the washing machine. Or was it the dishwasher?

[Okay. She's spent enough time in the hotel to recognize a few things.]

Isn't the washing machine for clothes?

[cathasahat]

Yes, I've broken many machines in the house before.

[venomnom]

How does that happen?

[cathasahat]

[ Shrugs, it's a talent? I guess?? ]

I'm not sure. But that's why I'm not allowed to use them anymore, since it causes more work in the end.

I can see how that would limit your options. Still, considering you can't use them anymore, you've done a fine job of going without.

[Because she knows that even sandwiches can be too much for some people to make.]

Thank you. What kinds of foods or drinks do you prefer?

I like apples and certain poisons.

[cathasahat]

[ Calmly sips her tea. ]

How did you discover your taste for the latter? I assume you must be resistant, at the very least.

[venomnom]

I was discovered to be resistant at a young age. You could say that the two go hand in hand, though my fondness for the taste grew a little later down the road.

Interesting. Do they taste different than regular foods?

[venomnom]

They're as different as you would expect from a delicacy. Are you curious to try?

[cathasahat]

I do enjoy trying different foods, but I don't have any innate resistance to poisons.

[venomnom]

That's a shame.

On the bright side, you should be able to try all sorts of food in the various establishments here.

Yes, the selection I've seen so far looks quite impressive.
