[ cyno is.. sitting on a comfy sofa in the hotel lobby, with a low table before him, that is absolutely piled with boxes. these boxes each contain a deck of tcg cards, lovingly chosen and put together by yours truly to be a comprehensive beginner deck. he spent a good deal of time choosing cards for them, to be sure that the decks would be both versatile and also fun to use, without being too difficult or too easy.

he's spoken to a few of you about this game, and if he has, feel free to assume he's sent you a text telling you to meet him here - but if you haven't, please feel free to stop by anyway. he might even be waving you over. ]

Excuse me. Do you enjoy card games?

[That's a lot of boxes. It's hard to miss someone like Cyno in such a public space, so it's only a matter of time before they make eye contact and Reiju is waved over.

She doesn't mind: Any opportunity to interact with a guest is good.]

I can't say that I feel one way or the other about them. Why do you ask?

Well, I perhaps have a game that might swing your opinion toward something more favorable. This game is very popular where I come from. It's called Genius Invokation TCG.

Are you looking to recruit players?

[ inside the box, she will find a thick deck of finely made cards, as well as a set of elemental dice, and a rolled up game mat. it's all brand spankin' new, and unused. ]

I'd like to hold a tournament at some point, if enough people want to play.

[She blinks down at the contents of the box once she removes the lid. Even she can tell that this is quality stuff.

Well, it isn't as if she's too busy to take some time out of her days here.]

You certainly have the means to do so.

Can you explain the rules?

[ opening his own deck box, cyno plucks out the game mat as well as his deck, unrolling the mat to spread his cards down across. ]

It's a game of strategy, where you create a team to battle your opponent's team. There are character cards, and support cards.

[ and he'll go on to continue explaining the rules which you can indulge in if you prefer, or ignore i'm not the boss of you ]

[Her box momentarily forgotten, she draws her attention to the game mat and Cyno's cards. He explains, and she listens. (Un)surprisingly, there are many rules.]

This is quite involved. I'll have to study these elemental reactions carefully.

Yes, the elemental reactions can be crucial, given how easily they multiply the damage output, or spread damage across the entire enemy team.

[ he nods, sagely. ]

Strategy is important. Relying on luck alone and trying to bash your way through won't work on a skilled opponent.

[She nods back. He's serious, so she'll do the decent thing and consider the information seriously.]

There's only so much that brute strength can achieve. This game is true to life in that way.

Exactly.

[ hang on - cyno glances over the table, and lifts a sheet of paper from a pile of them, holding it out for her to take. on it, she'll find detailed instructions on the game, including elemental reactions, elemental dice, and the flow of battle. he's so prepared!! ]

[Taking the paper, she gives it a glance before looking back up at Cyno. He really is prepared. It's almost like he came to the hotel for the express purpose of spreading word and recruiting players.]

[ yeah.............. he didn't come to the hotel with that purpose, no, but once he realized he could spread the good word of the king of invokations, he knew what he had to do. ]

[ and he doesn't mind coaching! in fact, it's thrilling in and of itself, in many ways, to teach someone new. ]
