[by now, everyone is probably aware of the broken espresso machine, which has yet to be replaced. for most people, this probably isn't an issue!1 but for Akira, Mr. Coffee-is-my-Blood. . .]

[. . . this morning, he can be found sprawled out next to the elevators on a random floor, face planted into the carpet and arms and legs sprawled akimbo at his sides. he is muttering something to himself]

. . . how hard is it. . . to find. . . a S████████ . . . in a hotel that has more floors than any building needs. . .

[LIGHT WHINING]

[anyway, he's being dramatic. help a guy out? maybe??? or make fun of his suffering? it is up to you!]

[the elevator rattles and bumps a bit, before zooming up, up and up. . . and then the buttons on the wall begin to flash all sorts of different lights, flickering on and off like some kind of holiday light show. AKIRA SIGHS. HE KNOWS WHAT IS COMING]

So it seems. The splash damage was unpredictable.

[anyway, I RNG'd floor 23. which means when the elevator comes to a stop and the doors open--]

[ Oh, well, this is a little unsettling! Thankfully for them both, the magic dagger at Winter’s hip lets out a resonant, clarion note right before the elevator doors slide open – a warning of impending danger.

(It makes it so Winter and his companions can’t be taken by surprise.)

The warlock tenses, yanking Akira out of the way as the skeleton jumps them both. ]

No you don’t.

[ Winter makes a motion with his hand and a strange, skeletal hand manifests in the space between them, all translucent bones and specks of starlight. It catches the skeleton by the front of the… face? Skull? By the front of the skull, and the bone crumbles away, half-destroyed but not fully out of action. ]
