Mm... yes, and no. I'm beholden to the wishes of my clients, but the design process is typically something I do on my own, unless I'm consulting my colleagues for one reason or another. But I like to see my projects through to completion, so I'll often keep in contact, check in with the vendors and the builders--sometimes I'll stay near the construction site to help with any unforeseen problems. If my design has some kind of flaw that would but the safety of the workers or future inhabitants at risk, it's my responsibility to make adjustments and fix the issue. It's typically faster, as well.
